This is my first time writing on a blog. It's a bit anticlimactic. I actually only wanted an easier way to record my thoughts or an alternative anyway. The garden is my focus at present, morning being the favored time of the day to work outside. Late afternoon is also very pleasant if the energy level is up for it. Today the boys helped me dig the goat manure into spots for planting squash. I planted the zucchini, crookneck pennsylvania dutch and spaghetti. I also planted some watermelon, leaving a couple spots open for cantaloupe which I have yet to buy.
The flowers that are returning from last year are a welcome bright spot in the garden. Some are coming up amid the asparagus and other plants.
I have yet to plant the beets and carrots, the seeds are patiently waiting for my attention, as they sit in little brown bags on the entry table. I think tomorrow will be the day for them.
Working in the garden strengthens me and calms me. I thank My Father for this earth and the opportunity to work the soil and see the beautiful flowers bloom.
